The Willis McGahee Foundation was established to help underprivileged children in the Baltimore area by providing them with the tools, resources and encouragement they need to become self sufficient young people with a sense of high self-worth.

The Willis McGahee Foundation provides toys at the holidays, Thanksgiving meals, schools supplies, books and educational materials and dental supplies to children in need and their families. In early 2009, The Willis McGahee Foundation was honored by the Howard County Government for the support of county children and received the Celebrating Successes for Children Award.

In October 2009, Willis was named the 2009 Humanitarian of the Year and received the John W. Holland Humanitarian Award in recognition of his Foundation’s charitable work.

  • Established The Willis McGahee Foundation in 2007 to help disadvantage and at-risk youth in the Baltimore and Miami areas
  • Held Holiday Toy Drives in 2007 and 2008; provided toys to 264 children
  • Held Thanksgiving Food Drive in 2008; provided cook-at-home meal kits to over 450 families
  • 2009 – Provided 15 Hooked on Phonics reading programs and 500 new books to the Howard County Head Start Center
  • 2009 – Provided over $6,000 worth of new toys for the children at the Howard County General Hospital Pediatric Center
  • 2009 – Held 1st Annual Coat Drive supplying coats and other warmth items to over 350 homeless men, women and children
  • 2009 – Held 2nd Annual Food Drive – supplied complete Thanksgiving meals to over 500 families
  • 2009 – Held 3rd Annual Toy Drive – hosted a Holiday Celebration and gave toys to over 150 children and their families
  • 2009 – Provided dental supplies (toothbrushes and toothpaste) to over 250 disadvantaged children
  • 2009 – Helped provide school supplies to 2500 disadvantaged children
  • 2010 – Volunteered to coach at the 2010 Snoop Bowl raising funds for less fortunate and at-risk youth nationwide
  • 2010 – Donated $6,000 to the John Hopkins Children’s Hospital
  • 2010 – Donated two truckloads of new toys to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital
  • 2010 – Donated backpacks and school supplies for over 400 children
