Just a quick note about something that is becoming more and more important to me on a daily basis. I was brought up believing in giving back to the community…I didn’t have a lot growing up as a kid but my mother always taught me that even if you don’t have much, you ALWAYS have something to give back…even if it’s just a smile to someone that might need one. I am writing this in hopes that imight inspire you to go out into your community and give something of yourself….so just a little blog about community and giving….and I promise that my next one will be about some KICK-BUTT FOOTBALL!!!
I was recently granted the 2009 Rev. John W. Holland Humanitarian award, which I will be honored on October 8, 2009. Although, I give from the heart without expecting anything in return, I am real grateful to be receiving such an honorable award.
I’ve really enjoyed giving back through toy drives, food drives, and donations to positive organizations because I get to meet up with others who want to help the community as well. I hope to empower and foster self-esteem to disadvantaged kids by providing them the resources they need to learn and fit in.
It always feels good to give something back. You can always give more, and it’s not just money. It can be your presence; just talking to our disadvantaged youth can make a huge impact on their lives. You can show
them that you live life too, and that you are one of them; you’re a regular guy.
Training camp has come to an end, and pre-season is already here. Time flies when you are having fun. I’m in great shape, and I’m feeling so positive about the upcoming season.
I’m ready to tear it up this season, so watch out everybody! This season we are going to take the NFL by storm and reach for nothing but the stars.

Wiils
